Lights, People and Beer.

I went to Oktoberfest tonight armed with camera flash and tripod. Started off photographing the bright lights, but then moved onto the colourfull people all dressed in the Dirndls and lederhosen. I definitley enjoy photographing people. I’m still relatively shy about asking, but the more I do the better I get.

Today I did a photoshoot with my neighbors daughter Daniela. We started outside and where rewarded with a wonderfull sunset. I tried the strobist lighting technique again & was very happy with the results.

Daniella got more and more into it too.

Later we went into my living room which I converted to a studio.

2 x Elinchrom lights on the background from left and right, pluse a strip box Key light on a Walimex monolight.

All the furniture is outside on the terrace. (Which has a roof for if it rains)

I was inspired to try the Strobist lighting style today.

Basically I set up my camera flash on a light stand and triggered it with a radio trigger. I have all the gear & had never really tried it.

I’m happy with the results and will use this more often.

The Autumn weather is nice at the moment.

Today we wanted to go for a bike ride, and headed off to

the Ammersee, a big lake near Munich. It turned out that everyone else wanted to go there too, so we used the advantage of having bikes & parked somewhere away from the lake & biked to it.

Enjoyed a family day, We played in paddle boats, Tommy went swimming, then later we went to a beer garden and had a cool one & something to eat. I also had fun photographing Seagulls etc.

I went to a vernisage the other day, and was introduced to Larissa, a young model looking for some photos for her portfolio. As my wife was away for the weekend it fitted in with me quite well to do a photo shoot on Saturday rather than sit in front of the TV.

She came with a great variety of clothes, and we managed a lot of different images.

We had a great Family holiday in Italy on Lake Garda.

The weather played along pretty well. It wasn’t too hot & wasn’t too cold.

I got in a bit of windsurfing & some mountainbiking with the kids.

Also managed to get in a photo shoot on the shores of the lake. It was a lot of fun with some young kids, and we managed to get some great photos.

I Had a great photoshoot with Thoms Ohme and Diana on Tuesday. We where out at a farm whare a colleague of mine lives. Got some outdoor shots in rain, with a rainbow, and some great shots in a woodwork workshop.

Will get the images into my gallery as soon as I get them processed.

I have spent many hours fiddling with html, php, and in photoshop and have learnt many new things. This is how I feel at the moment.

I have at last got my pages all looking similar, and the same header on every page. All I have to do now is organize the German translations, and sort a couple of minor formatting problems. I would like all pages to be centred like the gallery and Blog pages. Also In the blog pages there is a small gap between the images in the menu I need to get rid of.

Oh, and another small thing, The rollover images don’t work on the gallery and blog pages.

Edit: I sorted out the Centering. Very simple… add <centre> to the page and it is centred

I got the Adobe Dreamweaver 30 day demonstration version of the software and last night startes coding. After a few hours I have something to show. However as it is a result of a lot of trial and error, I might discard it all and start again from scratch so as to have a clean sheet. I’m relatively happy with how it looks.

 When I get that cleaned up I will see if I can add links to the Blog and Gallery pages.

Got frustrated last night trying to get everything to work correctly. I found the Homepage builder from Goneo is very unflexible with only a few templates that don’t suit my needs. Will need to look into using a web authoring tool like dreamweaver or something. Also I couldn’t seem to configure the Singapore software how I wanted. Will look at it again tonight.
